Accidental Cases
We have extensive experience handling accident and injury cases. We work with many local attorneys to provide medical expertise for cases involving workers’ compensation claims, auto accidents, and personal injuries. Our doctors and staff provide comprehensive medical care to the injured worker, keeping the employer, insurer, and case manager apprised of the treatment plan, progress, and status along the way.
Orthopaedic Paediatric Surgery
We treat children from the newborn stage through late adolescence. We choose to make pediatric care the core of their medical practice, and the unique nature of medical and surgical care of children is learned from advanced training and experience in practice.
Fractures
A fracture is a break, usually in a bone. If the broken bone punctures the skin, it is called an open or compound fracture. Fractures commonly happen because of car accidents, falls, or sports injuries. Accidental slips and falls become a major risk factor for fractures as we grow old, but you can fall and get hurt any time, any place, and at any age. A fractured hip or shoulder is a serious injury that can take months to heal.
Arthritis
Arthritis is very common but is not well understood. Actually, “arthritis” is not a single disease; it is an informal way of referring to joint pain or joint disease. Common arthritis joint symptoms include swelling, pain, stiffness and decreased range of motion. Symptoms may come and go. They can be mild, moderate or severe. They may stay about the same for years, but may progress or get worse over time.
Low Backache and Cervical Spondylosis
If you wake up with a stiff neck or back or have pain that is worse in the morning and at night, you might be experiencing spondylosis, the result of constant wear and tear on the vertebrae and cartilage of the spine. Spondylosis is also known as cervical spondylosis, because it most often affects the cervical section of your spine — that is, your neck. Other names for it are cervical osteoarthritis or neck arthritis. The pain of cervical spondylosis can spread into your shoulder or down your arm.
Metabolic Bone Disorder Management
Metabolic bone disease (MBD) is an umbrella term that covers a number of disorders related to the weakening of the bone or impaired systems function caused by an imbalance in vitamin D3, calcium and phosphorus. This imbalance may be caused by a lack of or too much of one of these three essential elements or the failure to provide one or more of them in a bioavailable form. Many foods highly touted for their calcium content, such as spinach, carrots, collards, chards and other thick leafy greens, contain calcium oxalates that bind calcium.
Osteoporosis Prevention and Management
Bone is hard tissue that is in a constant state of flux, being built up by bone-forming cells called osteoblasts while also being broken down or resorbed by cells known as osteoclasts. During childhood and adolescence, bone formation is dominant; bone length and girth increase with age, ending at early adulthood when peak bone mass is attained. All patients at risk of developing osteoporosis should be given lifestyle advice regarding dietary intake of calcium and vitamin D and regular weight-bearing exercise.
